Coming to college for the first time is a big transition. Living on your own in a dorm room without anything or anyone familiar to you can be intimidating. However, at Grace we desire to make your residence life experience enjoyable—and this starts with helping you decide what to bring to college. We have provided a list of room accessories and necessities for life in the residence halls.
What to Bring: Residence Hall Students
The school provides for each student a bed, dresser, desk, chair, and curtains or mini-blinds. The resident is responsible for any other room accessories he or she may wish to have. For significant health and safety reasons, students are prohibited from bringing used or second-hand upholstered furniture into Grace College Residence Halls. This would include used or second-hand chairs, sofas, futons, bean-bags or other furniture containing cushions, stuffing or upholstery. Cushions or pillows small enough to fit into a campus dryer are allowed. Students must be prepared to show copies of purchase receipts upon request. Students are strongly advised to buy and bring a minimal amount of furniture to campus.
This list is not exhaustive, but contains suggested items:
Bedding and sheets (twin, regular)
Computer/laptop/netbook (optional—Grace has computers for use in every building on campus with printing abilities)
